    Nathan serves as Chief Operating Officer and a founding member of TerraWest Consulting, where he brings a deep passion for integrating science, technology, and creative problem-solving to advance large-scale conservation efforts across the western United States. His work is focused on the development and management of complex mitigation and permitting projects throughout Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming.

    With more than 20 years of experience in environmental conservation, Nathan has worked with a diverse client base that includes major oil refineries, manufacturing facilities, energy developers, and engineering firms across the country. Through his work, Nathan oversees some of the largest habitat restoration and mitigation initiatives in the United States.

    Prior to TerraWest, Nathan co-founded and served as President of Sierra Ridge Consulting, where his work centered on environmental permitting, habitat restoration, and large-scale conservation and restoration planning. Throughout his career, he has helped clients navigate complex environmental challenges and advance successful development projects by providing practical, science-based solutions. He remains committed to applying the best available scientific information to support regulatory compliance and ensure the effective implementation of habitat protection and restoration programs.

    With a growing portfolio that includes more than $300 million in real estate and mitigation assets and over 150,000 acres of conserved and enhanced habitat, Nathan has helped build an enterprise focused on innovative, landscape-scale conservation solutions alongside a team of conservation specialists nationwide.

    Nathan brings a multidisciplinary background spanning environmental law, environmental economics, quantitative analysis, and extensive field and project management experience. This breadth allows him to effectively lead diverse teams and manage complex environmental projects across a wide range of geographies.

    Outside of his professional work, Nathan enjoys flying, skiing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his wife, eight sons, and seven grandchildren.
